We’ve all been there. We’ve let envy and jealousy take control of our minds and allowed its release of bitter poison into our daily lives.
Okay. I may be a little melodramatic, but I still believe envy and jealousy can totally warp your perspective and instead of being motivated by being a better version of you ⎯ you allow envy to be your driver. Don’t get me wrong, I do not think there is any problem with a little healthy competition; but if you continually only find your drive from overtaking someone else, you need to have a talk with you!
Join me as I analyze myself, which is always fun! In this talk, I totally admit to be in a constant battle with myself over what really inspires me. Is it a better version of myself or knocking that John Smith off his high horse? I pass on to you a little saying,
“There is always someone smarter, prettier, and more talented.”
If you constantly allow envy and jealousy in your life, you will need to learn how to control it and how to minimize its impact. I will try to pass on to you what I do, when I’ve succeeded and when I have failed. We all have fallen off the horse and no one is perfect, but we can aspire to add a little more “positive” to the world and less “negative“.
Finally, thank you for taking a listen to my podcast. We are speaking about envy this week, but over the next few weeks we will cover a wide range of topics and I hope you join me on the adventure!
